KN presidenttimme Tuulan tiedotteet IIW:n suunnittelemasta rahastosta kaikille klubeille ja Inner Wheel jäsenille sekä IIWP Phyllisin viesti
”Phyllis Charter, IIW:n presidentti, haluaa tiedottaa meille kaikille inneriläisille IIW.n hallituksen puhelinkokouksien aikana tehdystä päätöksestä perustaa erityinen ”katastrofi ja rokote” -rahasto. Inner Wheel omalta osaltaan haluaa osallistua tämän (korona)pandemian taltuttamiseen. Rokotteita tarvitaan kaikkialla, myös maissa, joissa virallinen terveydenhuolto ei toimi. Tämä on ainoa IIW:n organisoima keräys/rahasto, joka on perustettu tähän nimenomaiseen tarkoitukseen ja tällä viestillä halutaan myös varoittaa klubeja mahdollisista IW:n nimissä tehdyistä huijausyrityksistä. Tämä on ehdottomasti kaikille jäsenille ja klubeille vapaaehtoinen keräys. Kaikki voivat halutessaan siihen osallistua.
Miten käytännössä toimitaan: Tämä päätös on tehty viime viikolla ja pandemiasta aiheutuu monenlaista muutosta. Pääkonttori Altrinchamissa on tyhjä, brittien kokoontumis- ja matkustuskielloista johtuen väki ei sielläkään pääse liikkumaan. Rahaston perustamiseen liittyvät asiat ovat levällään, odotellaan siis.
Kansallisen Neuvoston rahastonhoitaja hoitaa aikanaan keskitetysti, pankkikulujen vuoksi, lahjoitukset eteenpäin. Heti kun tietoa saadaan niin ilmoitetaan lisää.
Monet klubit ja yksityiset jäsenet ovat jo aktiivisesti järjestäneet erilaisia tapoja avustaa lähialueiden ihmisiä, kotiinkuljetuspalveluita, ”mitä sinulle kuuluu” -puheluita, leivonnaisia kotiovelle jne…. Tämä on sitä todellista IW-toimintaa, josta kaikki aikanaan liki sata vuotta sitten sai alkunsa.”

The covid-19 virus pandemic has hit all the countries in the World and the imposed social isolation has caused dramatic changes to all our fellow Inner Wheel Members lives. Many are medics working all round the clock, others have businesses to run from their homes and all have families to care for and keep safe.
Four months ago nobody had any idea what the situation would be today. However, I can assure you that your International Inner Wheel Executive and Governing Body have met (via Zoom) regularly and discussed how a National Initiative for Covid-19 and other Disasters could safely and quickly be established. It is not as straight forward as some wouldlike to think. Being a large world-wide organisation one initially has to look at the legalities and practicalities of administering the fund so that it can meet all the varying National finance legislation rules.
This fund to be called the COVID-19 DISASTER AND VACINATION FUND will be the OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL INNER WHEEL FUND and is not to be confused with any other appeal.
The COVID-19 DISASTER AND VACINATION FUND will be separate from all other finances of IIW and it will be the only one to accept donations from the appeal that will be launched internationally next week.
By now, you will also have read the letter from Alan informing you that a “hashtag” has been designed by BD Sandra and we trust that it will be widely used in making this appeal to all Inner Wheel Members.
As President, I would like to thank the Board Directors and Executive Members for mastering the new technology that enables us to hold a live meeting all over the world and for their input into our Governing Body Meetings – they were all fruitful, rewarding and informative. It was refreshing to see and hear one another following the isolation and lockdown that we are all suffering at the moment.
With my very best wishes and please thank all members for their tremendous effort in all the help and support given to so many.
